Community Guidelines
Last updated: Date PENDING
PhonoMe is a place to talk. These guidelines apply to everyone on the app: people who call and Wellness Buddies who take calls. They summarise the rules in our Terms & Conditions, which take priority if anything here differs.
Be respectful
- Treat the person on the other end the way you’d want to be treated.
- No harassment, bullying, threats, insults or hate speech, including on the basis of gender, religion, caste, race, ethnicity, region or disability.
- Either person can end a call at any time, for any reason.
Keep it clean and legal
- No sexual content, nudity or sexually explicit talk, on audio or video.
- No content that endangers or sexualises children. We report it to the authorities. See our Child Safety Standards.
- No promotion of violence, terrorism, self-harm, illegal drugs, weapons, gambling or unlicensed online games.
- No content that is defamatory, obscene, invades someone’s privacy, or infringes someone’s intellectual property.
- No misinformation, and no synthetically generated content that misleads or breaks the law.
Protect privacy, yours and theirs
- Don’t ask for or share phone numbers, addresses, social media handles, bank or UPI details.
- Don’t record, screenshot or share a call without the other person’s consent.
- Don’t impersonate anyone or create fake accounts.
Keep it on PhonoMe
- Don’t move conversations or payments off the app.
- No spam, advertising, or selling products and services during calls.
You must be 18 or older
PhonoMe is for adults only. Accounts belonging to anyone under 18 are removed.
What happens when someone breaks the rules
Depending on what happened, we may warn the account, restrict it, suspend it or remove it permanently, as set out in Terms §9 (Breach and Termination). Serious or illegal behaviour is reported to law enforcement.
Reporting a problem
Write to support@phonome.in with the name shown on the account and the approximate time of the call. If you’re not satisfied with how we handled it, contact our Grievance Officer.
If you’re in crisis
PhonoMe isn’t a crisis or medical service. If you or someone else is at risk, call 112 for emergencies or Tele-MANAS 14416, free and open 24×7.
